Looking for any info/photos of Danny Louis. Plays with the Mule - I also read he plays with the Allmans but I can't find anything on him. Thanks

He does guest with the ABB once in a while. Here's a picture.[Edited on 7/11/2002 by Marley]

Sure seems like he's a permanent part of Gov't Mule now. Sounds great to me!

Who has Danny Louis played for in the past?

Marley - 2/16/2003 at 08:10 PM

Danny was a member of the Warren Haynes Band, which came before Gov't Mule. He is now a full-time member of the Mule, by the way.

This is borrowed from a thread at Ancient Harmony.net:
"Danny is a New York based keyboardist who has done extensive touring and recording with Warren Haynes, Joe Cocker, UB 40, Curtis Steigers, Tracy Chapman and many more. He has written many jingles as well as some major movie scores including the sound track of "The Candyman II" for Phillip Glass.

Danny joined in on the "MAKANA Marathon Session" at DK USA Studios in NYC IN 1997 . His perfomance proved him to be one of the most talented and versatile keyboard players around. Danny's wonderful ears and his natural instinct helped point the direction "MAKANA" took. Danny has earned himself, through his talent and love of playing, to be one of the busiest and most sought after keyboard players in the business today."

He also appears on Joan Osborne's new album playing clavinet and trumpet.

Danny was interviewed in a recent issue of Hittin' the Note magazine... he said he used to be a trumpet player, but he had a bout with Bell's Palsy (which paralyzed many of his facial muscles) and he lost the ability to play. He dedicated himself to the keyboards, and the rest is history. If he's gotten so much better that he can actually play trumpet again, that's really cool.

Danny was great tonight on Same Thing, The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down and Southbound. Happens to be a very nice guy too; met him after the show.
