Thread: Speachless

That show blew me away. Last night's set list was amazing and surprising and they smoked it, but tonight was something even more satisfying. You could see it when they all smiled at the horn section and when the whole band gave Boz Skaggs an ovation.

A soulful, sublime, tight show where everyone was ON an in a groove. Maybe the best N1TRW I've ever heard (Waren's solo was other worldly), the last two with Boz were so sweet and easy and full of soul, and they pulled it off without any miscues.....loved it! The horns added something rich to everything tonight. Smokestack was awesome!! Love the harmonica on that, Bruce or not. He was into it....that goes a long way. trading riffs on The Same Thing,Gregs voice all night!!!!, and of course Derek and Warren are just beyond words, I could go on and on. I'm not one to gloat about every show even though they are all solid, but tonight just rolled on down the track with an all encompassing musical ease and power. We wondered how they could top last night's amazing show and set list............well, that's at least how you equal it. Everyone will have a different feel and reaction, but for me, tonight will rank among the best I've seen.
Thank you Moogis! Thank you ABB!!!!I guess i wasn't so speachless afterall

I could not imagine Loan Me A Dime being any better. I liked how the whole band gave Boz applause afterward. Well earned I'd say. And yeah, the Smokestack was a very nice surprise. N1TRW, both Derek then Warren killed their solos. Liked the Coricidin closeup during it. Those Moogis camera guys have it goin' on.

Oh and Wasted Words, terrific. I could go on and on....

I was speaking to some friends and got back to my computer part way through the Dylan cover, but I found the rest of the Boz set wonderful. I had nothing against Skaggs before tonight, but was surprised at how much I enjoyed his segment. The band clearly did too....truly amazing. I thought that the balance of the show would be a let down after that, but somehow they kept the feeling strong right on through those old tunes.....really pumped new energy into those great songs.

It's wonderful how these guys no longer lean on the long instrumentals, Dreams, or Post to take you on an a musical journey....it can happen with any tune. You can't take a set list at face value and make assumptions. Great Band.

No argument here....that's a better phrasing to be sure. Certainly in 2009!!!

OMG!!!
The show last night was off the boards! Really love what the Juke Horns add (and they are so fun to watch!). Boz with the Bros on Loan Me a Dime and Bobby Blue Bland's Ain't No Love in the Heart of the City ... it just doesn't get much better than this (I had tears). The horns on Southbound - played already this run but totally different and wonderful last night. Gregg sounding wonderful, Derek and Warren - there are no words. Smokestack Lightning was awesome, also. My new best friend is Moogis!!! 5 more sleeps till the live thang!
