What's the deal with Gregg's hair? First time I've seen him perform with it down in a long time.

jonathanmatura - 3/13/2009 at 12:38 AM

Oteil is groovin.'

BigDaveOnBass - 3/13/2009 at 12:38 AM

Yeah he is rather animated tonight, isn't he?

mulehead13 - 3/13/2009 at 12:39 AM

Mitzi alert!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

jonathanmatura - 3/13/2009 at 12:40 AM

Sounds like Who's Been Talkin

nyabbfiend - 3/13/2009 at 12:41 AM

Curious about Gregg's hair, yes. Gotta like Derek's t-shirt - the cover of Junior Wells/Buddy Guy's "Hoodoo Man Blues", a CLASSIC album.

I'll have to check that one out.

dougrhon - 3/13/2009 at 12:42 AM

It actually sounds like Black Magic Woman.

jonathanmatura - 3/13/2009 at 12:43 AM

I think this is a Howlin Wolf song.

JMike00317 - 3/13/2009 at 12:46 AM

what time has the band been taking the stage?....just wondering....

[Edited on 3/13/2009 by JMike00317]

No doubt!

chadwick011 - 3/13/2009 at 12:51 AM

Is it me, or is Derek a little low in the mix? I can barely hear him sometimes...and maybe his shirt is a hint as to what will come later in the show? I can only hope...

jonathanmatura - 3/13/2009 at 12:52 AM

I love this song, and how they go into the Other One.

BigDaveOnBass - 3/13/2009 at 12:53 AM

Black Hearted Woman

Duey - 3/13/2009 at 12:53 AM

Jeebus, all the guys are just on fire.

suk0 - 3/13/2009 at 12:56 AM

Yeah, Derek is definitely low in the mix..

Uponthe2ndfloor - 3/13/2009 at 12:58 AM

gondicar - 3/13/2009 at 01:06 AM

PS - this moogis thingy is pretty damn cool.

Danycam - 3/13/2009 at 01:07 AM

Is anyone posting actually there, or just watching on Moogis? If you are there, where are your seats and what kind of device are you using to post?

gondicar - 3/13/2009 at 01:07 AM

BDoB...you look like you're playing right along in your avatar!

I think they called an audible on this. Maybe a guest wasn't ready to come out?

buhda2 - 3/13/2009 at 01:08 AM

Better watch out you're going to crash the server...

jonathanmatura - 3/13/2009 at 01:08 AM

Yea I saw Warren kinda directing traffic.

Angelemerald - 3/13/2009 at 01:10 AM

I can pull it apart, oh yeah. I know every note and the exact tone. But tonight they are there and present and focused and playing with feeling and emotion and they are all beautiful and they are all gifts to us. Never forget that. Angela

BigDaveOnBass - 3/13/2009 at 01:10 AM

Set 1

Little Martha
Trouble No More
Leave My Blues At Home
Who's Been Talkin'
Black Hearted Woman/The Other One Jam/BHW
Can't Lose What You Never Had

Angelemerald - 3/13/2009 at 01:11 AM

BTW, I think tonight is much tighter. And like I said, they are all beautiful gifts, so be kind as much as critical, if critical at all.

Soon they will forget completely that people are watching beyond the ones in the room. Also, they should never forget what opinions are. LOL.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I have no video now just the stereo. I have two computers hooked up to one monitor. So when I'm on line, I can't see the video portion. Now I have to totally rearrange things for this Moogis thing. LOL. I think of how brave they are to do this. Ok, gotta go see Buddy Guy now. Enjoy for the rest of the night.
[Edited on 3/13/2009 by Angelemerald]
gondicar - 3/13/2009 at 01:11 AM
BigDaveOnBass - 3/13/2009 at 01:20 AM
Is it me, or do I hear some static, like maybe Buddy's amp is acting up, or maybe his guitar? It's more noticable when the dynamics are low.
[Edited on 3/13/2009 by BigDaveOnBass]
nyabbfiend - 3/13/2009 at 01:20 AM
Buddy is a young-looking 72. His back and forth was Warren was wonderful. Then, after he took a verse on the mic, his setup for the next solo: "I gotta hear you, Derek!" Nice.
Just a few easy steps...on a PC, hit the "print screen" key, paste into image software, save the jpeg, post online someplace like freeimagehosting.net then paste the image link here.
I'll post up a few more as the night rolls along for the non-moogis folks...
Here comes Trey and Page...
nyabbfiend - 3/13/2009 at 02:24 AM
LIZ REED!
Last time Trey played this w/em, last night 07, he was WEAK. Hope he can improve tonight. "I Know You Rider" was terrific.
allmanfanfromsweden - 3/13/2009 at 02:26 AM
did trey solo good on know you rider??
emr - 3/13/2009 at 02:27 AM
I made my predicition 2 days ago - a Liz Reed for the Derek fans
nyabbfiend - 3/13/2009 at 02:27 AM
Pardon my bad info - last time w/ Trey was 3-22-05, Big House Benefit. But he was off that night; seems better tonight. Still the 3rd best guitarist on stage ...
bdwalton77 - 3/13/2009 at 02:27 AM
Trey and Page both had solos on I Know You Rider per what I'm reading.
gondicar - 3/13/2009 at 02:28 AM
Derek is going to town on Lizzie right now...whoa!!!
its a matter of taste..i think they all are good..trey can play awesome if he just let it go..
bob1954 - 3/13/2009 at 02:29 AM
I didn't expect to like Trey tonight, but it's really sounding great! They're in synch!
mulehead13 - 3/13/2009 at 02:31 AM
I like Trey quite a bit and I am not listening to the show, but why is there so much disdain for him here.? I personally don't think his style fits with ABB all too much but wow is he polarizing.
What I do know is that ABB has a lot of love and respect for him to bring him on stage for their 40th anniversary. Enjoy folks as history is being made nightly at these shows.
Soulshine99 - 3/13/2009 at 02:31 AM
Hey ya'll,
Rowland is trying to get us all over to the new section "Beacon Talks" that's where we can carry on about Beacon/Moogis. In 2007 he had to shut down "Anything Goes" cause of this so lets try it out...
See you there!
Derek is in a zone tonight. As a famous story goes
By then, Jones's career and his class had inspired an Ohio youngster named Jack William Nicklaus, whose record 271 in the 1965 Masters inspired one of Jones's most memorable lines.
"He plays a game," Jones said of Nicklaus, "with which I am unfamiliar."
hotlantatim - 3/13/2009 at 03:39 AM
So do you guys think Warren enjoys being an Allman Brother????
20 years down the road and he's having an absolute blast!!! Fun to see him & Gregg there at the end.
There at the end of the Statesboro Blues encore when Warren was singing to Gregg, then they did the call and response to The Blues Is Alright, and Warren got the crowd in on it. THAT was special. God, I love this band!
When I heard I Know You Rider my thoughts turned to Lefty Collin's version, with his lyric tweak, at Bill Ecttor's memorial service last summer. What a touching moment then, as well as last night.
sully - 3/13/2009 at 01:33 PM
I was center loge and IMO this show was EPIC !!!!! I thought if I came on here and posted how great it was that people might think I was saying that just because it was my only show attended live this run. Seeing all of the reviews from people watching Moogis along with those who were there lets me know that I wasn't dreaming, the show was that amazing!!! Just absolutely amazing!!!
