Thread: 10/24 Setlist and Reviews

Counselor - 10/25/2014 at 01:15 AM

Anybody have a setlist so far? How are the boys sounding tonight?

Breck - 10/25/2014 at 01:19 AM

3,500 miles away; no Moogis; any updates are cool

phillybob - 10/25/2014 at 01:19 AM

Hot 'Lanta and someone reported Gregg flubbed the lyrics.

Counselor - 10/25/2014 at 01:38 AM

Yes I heard Gregg forgot all the lyrics to Hot'Lanta, this is getting ridiculous.

tbomike - 10/25/2014 at 01:41 AM

A couple of short bits from Alan Paul's twitter.

Who did you hear from?

yaarpenpowderman - 10/25/2014 at 01:46 AM

Hot lanta
No one left to run with
Leave my blues at home
Worried down with the blues
Soulshine
true gravity
Dreams
Black hearted woman

Derek and Warren are absolutely TEARING IT UP

Breck - 10/25/2014 at 01:47 AM

Cool thanks!

Counselor - 10/25/2014 at 02:01 AM

Thanks guys. That is a pretty crushing set list so far if you ask me. I knew they were going to come out swinging tonight.

Labrat - 10/25/2014 at 02:05 AM

Wow, great looking first set. Wish I was there to hear it!
Tuesday night can't come quick enough for I'll be in the house.
It'll be a bittersweet experience to say the least.

ladymule - 10/25/2014 at 02:07 AM

Thanks for the setlist.

pearl317 - 10/25/2014 at 02:17 AM

Per Alan Paul's FB - "I can confirm they are playing Duane's guitars. All three. Wow. Maybe that explains the added intensity"

pearl317 - 10/25/2014 at 02:20 AM

Alan has EVERY HUNGRY WOMAN closing the first set, I am not there, have no idea who is right...

tbomike - 10/25/2014 at 03:02 AM

Guess what people?

Thank you for the setlist. I enjoyed the video clips.

BillyBlastoff - 10/25/2014 at 03:20 AM

Apparently this show is for the nay sayers.

Duane's guitars!

tbomike - 10/25/2014 at 03:21 AM

They say Derek is wearing the Berry and Duane t shirt.

BillyBlastoff - 10/25/2014 at 03:29 AM

I can't make all the comments load on Alan Paul's Facebook Fan Page.

I swear - I'm not a Luddite!

tbomike - 10/25/2014 at 03:34 AM

On this page the comments should be just laid out for you. Below the video you should be able to click view previous comments if you want to see more. This is from the 2nd set discussion.

I think I pulled the 2nd Set setlist:

Come and Go Blues
Rockin' Horse
Trouble No More
Midnight Rider
Blue Sky
You Don't Love Me
Soul Serenade

Encore: Whipping Post

I hear the price of tickets on Stubhub is going up.

Soul Serenade was extremely sweet......

Glad I got to say goodbye!!

jkay - 10/25/2014 at 06:32 AM

Great show, they are going out in peak form.

The second set was off the charts.

Derek busted a few strings midway thru Whipping Post and a replacement guitar was provided.

Gregg was at his best on Trouble No More, brought a big smile to Warren's face.

BoytonBrother - 10/25/2014 at 04:51 PM

now THAT is a setlist. Wow! Maybe the best i've ever seen. How can we hear it?

Shavian - 10/25/2014 at 05:05 PM

Who sang Blue Sky?

Did Warren and Gregg flip a coin or was it a case of whoever came in first....?!

[Edited on 10/25/2014 by Shavian]

tbomike - 10/25/2014 at 05:06 PM

Warren sang and Gregg did not cut in inadvertently.

Counselor - 10/25/2014 at 09:38 PM

It sounds like 10/24 might be a good Instant Live candidate. Can't recall many setlists in recent memory as chock-full of tunes that the Bros just hammer. After the Tues/Wed. reviews I was feeling slightly less bad about not making the cross-country trip to catch a show or two, but after hearing about last night the old twinge in my stomach is back. Damn. Nevertheless Very Happy for all those who were in the house last night, you all are probably still buzzing.

Forever_Duane - 10/26/2014 at 12:48 AM

I am listening to it now. Show of the year.

Two words about Friday night - True. Gravity. Anybody find a video yet? Thanks.

willieB69 - 10/27/2014 at 07:36 PM

My wife, my daughter (her first Beacon show), and myself were in the house Friday night! It was definitely the show of the run so far and a great way to end it all for one who climbed on the bus for shows in 1971! First of all I didn't think they played true gravity, I thought it was Kind of Bird and but it was True Gravity! the energy in the house and on stage was outstanding and bar as far as playing was extremely high. Gregg's voice in the house mix was strong and loud, we'll see once I get the Instant live if it transfers to disc as I heard it Fri night, sometimes it does, sometimes not! I know this, at the end of it all he appeared to be exhausted, and rightfully so! The dreams was awesome, both guitarist took solos! the blue Sky was a pleasant surprise and warren sang and laid down a great extended 2nd solo. The Done somebody Wrong to begin 2nd set is may favorite personal 2nd set starter. Trouble No More had all the power and the glory of those versions that the original line-up used lay down! The 2nd set closer, You don't Love me was very close to a carbon copy of the Fillmore east version until they took it into soul serenade and Derek just took us to church on that one. After that set closer, you knew they could only end it with Whipping Post. but boy what a whipping post - Warren teasing My Favorite Things in his solo -> into a full version of Will The Circle Be Unbroken" with the whole house singing along ( this happened a lot fri night!) -> into Gregg's soul-wrenching wail to end the night. House Lights came on and Little Martha playing on thru the PA system, I told my family be still and let's just listen to this as probably won't get to experience it again like this! We talked about getting tics for Saturday night's show and we all three said - nope it could not have ended with a better setlist and performance for three true fans. then we were off to BB Kings for Col Bruce & friends and also Lions on the Moon. Still smiling at my keyboard here 3 days later! Can't wait for HTN to deliver this one thru the mail! That's my 2 cents!
