Thread: airfare cancellations.

cbrown0720 - 3/25/2014 at 04:46 PM

Just wanted to plug Southwest Airlines. (I have no affiliation whatsoever) When I called them yesterday to cancel our flights for this weekend and explained the situation, they were awesome. No cancellation fee's charged! They cancelled our flights and gave us the full amount of credit on Southwest, good for 1 year. I know that many were not so lucky and I thought I would mention it for future planning. Heres to hoping for some rescheduled dates that work!! Peace.

Happy it all worked out for you.

I'm glad Southwest refunded you. I've heard so many negative experiences about that airline that despite traveling to the Southwest United States rather frequently I refuse to ever take SW airlines for a flight.

In many ways, southwest is the best airline going. Just another piece of evidence.

Same here - cancelled my southwest flight with zero issues.

Had a bit of a problem with Kimpton Hotels, but they came through in the end.

This has to be a joke.

They're rated one of the worst airlines, and are one of the worst airlines as they have frequent delays, multiple layovers, and cancellations without telling their passengers in advance, and very poor customer service.

I know people who work in the air travel industry and they refuse to work for SW since it's that bad, and they've told me that it's best to never travel with them.

I'm going to keep this short because not everyone has the same experiences when flying or the same
Opinions.

Firstly - congrats to the OP for good "luck."

But I personally don't feel it's luck at all. I have a SW credit card that I switched to from an AMEX. The card and the airlines are the best two options for me. And I've spread that word to several others who are passionate travelers. And they couldn't agree more. I wish you better luck in the future if you choose to fly SWA again.

SWA is the only way to go.
