Thread: Beacon 2012

psujunglist - 10/13/2011 at 12:27 AM

When do the dates and tickets usually go up for for the Beacon runs? I am trying to fly out from SoCal this year, and I want to get a jumpstart on plans. Thanks!

mikesolo - 10/13/2011 at 02:12 PM

Usually in January

psujunglist - 10/13/2011 at 04:48 PM

thank you!!

tbomike - 10/13/2011 at 05:07 PM

Actually last year the onsale was in December for the first 8 round of dates. From the newsletter last year:

Hey there sweet family,

In just a little over 3 months, the Allman Brothers Band will be back where they belong, at the Beacon Theatre in NYC. The specific dates are March 10, 11, 12, 14, 15, 17, 18 and 19. That’s what we call March Gladness!! Whoo hoo!

Tickets for all 8 shows go on sale tomorrow, December 4, at 11:00 A.M. via TicketMaster:

b62gold - 10/23/2011 at 11:37 AM

Can anyone tell me how to get the presale password for the beacon tickets for 2012??

If you are a registered member of the site before the on sale is announced you will get an email with the same. If you are not, if you use the password they will cancel your order.

b62gold - 10/25/2011 at 06:48 PM

a registered member of this site?? sorry for the confusion

i think that you have to be registered (i.e. have a user name) and being able to post on these boards means you are registered. as far as getting the password, you have to be registered by a certiant date. so you cant just sign up at the day before the sale and try and get in on the presale. also you have have your account on here set up to receive messages from administrators (there may be another name but thats the jist). and lastly make sure your email address on your account is current or one you actively check (or you may never see the password).

i may have some of the jargon wrong, but this is basically how i remember it.

b62gold - 10/26/2011 at 08:55 PM

thanks I think I am ok I didn't receive the password last year though I checked everything you said I do not see a place to receive emails from administrator or anything like that. I hope that when the time comes I can get the password. Thanks for the help

and make sure it is the same password as used for ticketbastard - the site checks email addresses before shipping the tickets

delysiduous - 11/27/2011 at 01:43 PM

Was at the Beacon last night for The Cure, and was wondering about this. I never even knew about this presale; always got tix last minute from boardies who had extras. Good to know.

steviewags - 11/28/2011 at 03:50 PM

CAN'T WAIT!!

PennsylvaniaPete - 12/3/2011 at 05:23 PM

I just went to check this, and last year I got my tickets the first Saturday in December. As today as the first Saturday in December, they may of wanted to wait until the Boston run was done. I would be looking for an annoucement this upcoming week.

psychobillycadillac - 12/5/2011 at 07:26 PM

hey brothers and sisters, anyone have any updated info on when the big announcement is going to be? Last year was my 35th ABB show and first show ever seeing them at the Beacon Theater, hoping to get back up for a few more during the 2012 run!

shorigan - 12/7/2011 at 01:49 PM

Haven't been in 10 years..... really looking forward to 2012!

Scuderia1 - 12/7/2011 at 09:01 PM

Just a heads up to those really, really looking to secure tickets: American Express is the only way to score pre-sale tickets to my knowledge. I didn't get a code last year, but I also wasn't a member of this website. I receive the e-mails from Hittin' the Note. Make sure you are signed up for everything and anything to receive e-mails!

Just a warning: Many people will go on Ticketmaster once the sales are released to the general public. They know they can make money on people trying to get tickets. So if you have the opportunity.. BUY PRE-SALE! I got lucky for one set of tickets last year.. But really payed a lot of extra money for a second set of tickets for the second night.

So like I said: American Express (AMEX) pre-sale code. Or pre-sale from Hittin' the Note. If anyone else has suggestions, please let our brothers know so they get a fair price on tickets!

Susie-Q - 12/10/2011 at 05:04 PM

Do I have to have an American Express card to get presale tickets? Can I use the presale password and play by Visa?

TuffJew - 12/10/2011 at 10:22 PM

You are not limited to using just AMEX for the pre-sale---just be prepared for the usual 15 minute wait---be patient---!!!

doster79 - 12/10/2011 at 11:06 PM

even though i do appreciate the ABB presale, presales have a tendency to unload the least desirable seats first. if you are patient enough you'll find great seats a week or two before the show on TM from seats being released from the promoter or band that aren't going to be used or from the "gold package" seats not selling.

emr - 12/11/2011 at 07:18 PM

Agreed; this works well if you have flexibility. But, if there is a specific day I want/need to go I just keep trying till I get acceptable pre-sale seats. If I can't get them i try the secondary market - it is what it is

zep41 - 12/12/2011 at 04:42 PM

I keep checking this thread daily for Beacon info....I'm sure once it's released, the tour dates section and this thread will be posting info.

Looking forward to the Beacon 2012.

psujunglist - 12/12/2011 at 05:50 PM

Anxious...to say the least!

I apologize for any confusion.

You do NOT have to have an AMEX card to get pre-sale tickets.

If you are signed up to Hittin' the Note.. You will receive an e-mail with a password to obtain pre-sale tickets. Those tickets can be paid for with any major credit card (accepted by Ticketmaster).

The OTHER option to obtain pre-sale tickets is via AMEX. Last year, I was not registered early enough to receive a password from Hittin' the Note. So I wanted to spread the information to those who choose not to sign up, or simply sign up too late. You do have another option. And it's through AMEX. Some of the AMEX cards offer pre-sale ticket purchases.

I couldn't agree more with EMR's post: If you have flexibility it may be worth waiting. But a significant amount of people will be travelling from outside of NY/NJ to see the show. For those: I would recommend trying to score pre-sale tickets. You will pay a fair price. And you will have the piece of mind that comes with obtaining tickets early.

Best of luck to all on their quest to obtain tickets! Hope we hear an announcement soon!

mustangbob - 12/13/2011 at 11:21 PM

Went to the calender for concert dates and punched in March and almost blew a gasket when I saw March populated with Beacon dates..... Then I realized the year was 2011. This is killing me.

Jocelyn1977 - 12/14/2011 at 03:01 PM

These Beacon tix are supposed to be my father's Christmas gift. Agghhh! The wait is killing me too! I hope my gift idea doesn't fall through....I can see the look on his face now when he sees the tickets; its been a minor dream of him to see The Allman Brothers at the Beacon.

This is EXACTLY what I'm doing for my pops for Christmas, as it's his dream as well. Like you, I seriously hope this gift idea doesn't fall thru. We are from Chicago and we've never seen them at the Beacon, I've actually never even been to NYC. Together in 2009 we went to Wanee in Florida, but something tells me the Beacon will be a little more special.

Jocelyn1977 - 12/14/2011 at 07:44 PM

Come on guys, for-th-love-of-God and Christmas gift history, please post the pre-sale info in time!

nanogrammy - 12/14/2011 at 07:48 PM

You could always buy some "peachy" stickers and make a gift certificate if the shows don't go on sale before Christmas.

Jocelyn1977 - 12/15/2011 at 01:52 PM

Was thinking bout doin a tee-shirt w/homemade gift cert attached, but the stickers would be a bit more frugal...
Still hoping for a holiday miracle w/actual tickets, though.....

Skobud - 12/15/2011 at 04:41 PM

Im new to this forum, but not new to The Beacon run. I too am doing a little holiday agonizing on this one(because a ticket is a present). Is there anyone we can actually contact to see if it is even in the cards? I just want to know if its gonna actually happen. Any insight on this would be much appreciated. Ill Email or call whoever on this one. Thanks.

Beldew - 12/18/2011 at 02:11 PM

Any news yet on dates? I wanted them as a gift for my boyfriend for Christmas!!!!

Pete - 12/18/2011 at 05:34 PM

An announcement would be a great Christmas gift. I just want to know. Getting anxious.

northernman - 12/19/2011 at 04:49 PM

actually being signed up as a member is not enough

you must be signed up for the newsletter the Peach-O-Gram before the deadline set by for each years presale.

So sign up for the newsletter--under community/newsletter/update subscriptions and check off the peach o gram

then you will get the passwords emailed to you before the presales.

mikesolo - 12/19/2011 at 05:57 PM

Walked in to the Beacon Box Office this weekend and no news there either.

pfirsichklaus - 12/19/2011 at 07:53 PM

we are two old guys from hamburg/germany and ABBfans since 1972. This spring the first ABB
record - eat a peach - appeared in germany . It costed 35 DM at that time - my pocketmoney for a month! The band hasn`t been in hamburg since the early 80s - not a real amazing show exept Dickey Betts.
But now we decided to visit NY in march with 2 (?) shows in Beacon!
we need some advices for tixxs...cheaper hotels in Manhattan and more...
Is there anybody in germany or europe planning too ?

Jocelyn1977 - 12/21/2011 at 06:18 PM

Wow....still holding out hope but this is getting really disapointing
I really don't want to write a card about the tix gift for Christmas.....I really want my dad to be able to hold them in his hands; its just not the same, ya know?
Come on guys, we're anxiously waiting!! Please please please......with a cherry on top!!

Soulshine99 - 12/22/2011 at 02:23 PM

I'm thinking presale early January. Announcement between Christmas and New Year's. Just a guess.

PennsylvaniaPete - 12/23/2011 at 02:19 AM

We all want the dates. If they were posted tomorrow, folks would complain it was too close the the xmas mess. Next week folks would complain that they were broke.

northernman - 12/23/2011 at 03:30 PM

I always have money for Beacon tix!

bvitag - 12/28/2011 at 07:34 PM

Just heard Stef Scamardo (we know who she is, don't we) on XM Radio say the announcement for the ABB Beacon Run will be made shortly after New Year's.

Yes, you can opt for willcall or mail. Or, if you choose home print, you can go to a computer w/ a printer later, log in to your TM account and print then.

This may be a good time to remind folks that ABB presales (not AMEX) take several weeks to become available after purchase, because the Admins here compare the purchaser's email here on HTW to the email used for TM to make sure only legit registered members here are buying the tix. That is, if someone shares the passcode, those tix WILL BE voided.

[Edited on 12/31/2011 by Brock]

zink88 - 12/31/2011 at 04:45 AM

n u can purchase tix without havin american express ?

Susie-Q - 12/31/2011 at 09:27 AM

I don't have AMEX. Is there a chance that the tix will sell out in the AMEX presale? Will all the best seats be sold, or do they hold some back for the regular TM sale? I'd be flying from CA and really want to go to 2-3 shows. Please post updates and info. Thanks!

mustangbob - 12/31/2011 at 11:13 AM

Suzie-Q,
I have not had very good luck purchasing good presale tickets through either AmEx (only attempted this once through a fellow Beacon attendee since I don't carry that card), ABB, or just the beginning of regular sales. Typically I will try to purchase 4 tickets (max permitted at one time) at the earliest listed time but am immediately rebuffed, the web site telling me that there are not tickets available in that number - so then I try two or three with the same response. You may have better luck with 3 seats together rather than 2 or 4. Usually I can purchase a single ticket but my group likes to sit together. The final result is that we go to a site like stub hub (my choice) or ticket liquidator and end up with groups of 2, 3 or 4 tickets with seat locations anywhere in the place depending on what you are willing to pay. We typically average spending $300 per ticket to be approximately 7 to 12 rows back. You will hear about the band releasing additional during tickets leading up to the concerts so that you should always be checking back with ticketmaster but my luck there has been disappointing plus I don't have the time or inclination to be going through the process every day checking on ticket availability. My experience with stub hub is as you would expect - the ticket pricing comes down when you get a few weeks out from the concert. The ticket selection also diminishes somewhat but there are still seats available. Somehow the ticket brokers always seem to end up with most of the tickets which is very discouraging, however, we (8 of us) view this as a once a year extravaganza and college reunion so everyone begrudgingly will pay the price. Hopefully others will weigh in here and give you and I additional advice. Pre sales have worked for me at the Tower Theater in Philly but the best seating I have obtained there was about 20 to 25 rows back. Good luck and be patient.
P.S. While irritated by ticket brokers I have been impressed with stub hub. Two years ago tickets I ordered were going to be center right and they came to me center left. I actually dealt with a live person on the phone who was able to put my group together in better seats than I had originally purchased (third row center right at the United Palace).

geedub - 12/31/2011 at 05:26 PM

Thanks, Mustangbob. For us Beacon virgins, can someone clue us in on ticket location? Someone said the Beacon is small and has no bad seats. Are there areas to avoid, or favor?

mulefool - 12/31/2011 at 06:48 PM

All good seats. Depends on what you want to spend and whats available.

jgagy - 12/31/2011 at 11:33 PM

the beacon-o-gram has arrived

Pete - 1/1/2012 at 01:05 AM

Great news! What a way to start the new year. Happy New Year to all!

tclawrence - 1/1/2012 at 01:35 AM

There really aren't any bad seats at the Beacon, just remember if you want to dance (and who doesn't want to dance at an ABB show???) you should get seats in the orchestra. People get angry if you try to stand up and dance in the balcony or the lodge. Last row dancing is OK in the balcony and lodge!!

Susie-Q - 1/1/2012 at 02:44 AM

Thanks mustangbob

I didn't sign up for the newsletter until I read northermman's post about it on 12/19. I'm worried that I'm too new to the site to recieve the presale password.

Brock - 1/1/2012 at 03:20 AM

Yes Suzie, the email is out. Based on your registration date, you qualify for the presale. You have to be registered by 12-23, so you should be good.

Anyone who registers later will have their tix cancelled, even if they do somehow get the passcode via email or otherwise.

I would check my spam filter or, failing that, go to the Newsletters section and click view past newsletters. In the past, the full email was viewable that way. As of now it is not posted, but maybe it will be later (or your email may just be delayed). Or try the AMEX presale if none of that works.

Susie-Q - 1/1/2012 at 03:32 AM

Thank-You Brock! My mistake. I posted before I checked my mail. (You see I edited my post)
This really is a Happy New Year!

I looked through these posts and checked everything - (accepting cookies, valid email address, spam filter, etc).

Also - i went to the Newsletters section and clicked 'VIEW PAST NEWSLETTERS' and I don't see anything about Beacon 2012. Can anybody help me???

There person who can help you - Lana.Email or private message her and she will help sort things out.I had the same problem as you for many years, finally switched to gmail and now things are fine. Members are not permitted to give the password out and could have their own tickets invalidated so asking Lana is the move.

RTFWETH - 1/1/2012 at 03:49 PM

Thanks lovelight! Rowland ended up sending me the newsletter. Turns out my email rejected it, without any error message. I'll take the issue up with my provider. Happy New Year!!!

Your registration is showing 12-27-11, which is past the 12-23 cutoff, so I think you do have a problem.

You may well be able to do a transaction tomorrow, but then will find out later (think 1-2 weeks before the run) that your tix have been cancelled. I wouldn't want to tie up my money then find out at the last minute I have no tix.

I would not think resetting the password should adjust the initial registration date, but maybe it does. You will not get shut out, but if you do, keep checking over time (they always release more tix, especially now that VIPs are part of the mix, and those may not sell at the high price).

Got an AMEX?

@pfirsichklaus

Hi,
I'm from Hannover/Germany, last, first and only time I saw the ABB was in 1991? in Göttingen/Germany with the Beach Boys and the Little River Band.
So it's time to see them again at the Beacon. I hope, I can get tickets for the shows on 13/14/16/17th.
I am excited to see the ABB at the Beacon, I was there in 2007 and 2009 at Mules NYE. It was great.
So, let's get in touch if, or hopefully when, we get our Tickets.

Hope, we can have some beers at the Beacon
Frank

Most Loge will be $170, w/ a few on the sides at about $120. $120 also gets you lower balcony or rear orch and the $74 is upper balc.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news.. But I would think the transaction would be declined..

I've always known a credit limit to be exactly that. Once you exceed the limit the card refuses to pay for it.

I hope you can figure something out though. Best of luck. Maybe a debit card?

Scuderia1 - 1/2/2012 at 05:18 PM

Took me a while to finally figure out how to get the $117 rate (with tax) for tickets in the Loge. But I scored 2 tickets, 7 rows back (G row) for March 24. Hope to see some fellow brothers at the show!

Soulshine99 - 1/2/2012 at 05:20 PM

Had 3 for Row R - finally - for 3/24 and Ticketmaster won't accept my login and I lose the tickets....BS.

Positively4thstreet - 1/2/2012 at 05:32 PM

Very happy with what I came up with on pre-sale, thanks Lana. Row A lower balcony, my favorite location.

Each year I am thankful I get to see this great band in NYC for another run! The world is in chaos, the economy sucks, but when the house lights go down around 8:20 on March 13th all will be right with the world for a couple of hours.

Thanks!

tclawrence - 1/2/2012 at 05:36 PM

They're all equally annoying to get out of. LaGuardia is the cheapest.

Newark usually has the cheaper airfare but then you need to get to the city. That's $60 for a cab (one way), or $15 for the NJ Transit train to Penn Station (one way), or $4-5 using buses and subway (one way - this will take a LOT longer). I've always just taken the NJ Transit.

JFK, you can take the airport train ($5 - rip off!) then take the subway. Probably take you 45-60 minutes to get to UWS.

LaGuardia - you can take the bus from the airport to UWS. $2.25. Takes about 45-60 minutes to get to Columbia University area (last stop). From there, use your bus transfer for the subway - or walk.

I think a cab one way from JFK or LaGuardia will be about $40-50 to UWS area. Depending on traffic.

I wouldn't worry about safety. I felt safer in NYC than any other city. I think it's statistically one of the safest big cities in the world nowadays. There's always a good amount of other people around.

i think newark may be closest to the city. someone correct
me if im wrong. and easy to get to from the nj turnpike

I always try to get front row orch or front row loge. Nothing even close - tried the AMEX presale, the Peachogram presale, and the AMEX preferred.

I've always got BB or CC orch for AMEX presale...

Looks like I gotta wait for the general sale.

If it ain't frustrating to get tix, it ain't a Beacon run!

The BB<CC Orch are $500 Gold Package tickets right now. They won't be in the regular sale or presales.

mulefool - 1/2/2012 at 10:27 PM

scored tickets for the 20th! orch row R, very happy with that....

mustangbob - 1/2/2012 at 10:33 PM

Congrats to all who got tickets. I will keep trying but I see a ticket broker in my future. Hotels - we always stay at the "on the ave" hotel which is two blocks away between Broadway and Amsterdam. It is pricy but nice - rooms for St Pats weekend with two double beds running about $350 to $365 per night (tax and fees included). Will permit up to four in a room. Right across from a great 24 hour diner, a greasy burger and pizza joint named Nicks on Broadway, and also a very cool grocery store on Broadway. The Amsterdam Pub is on the same block on Amsterdam Ave and is a big hangout for concert goers before and after the shows. Playing non stop ABB on the sound system. Hope this helps.

Susie-Q - 1/2/2012 at 10:52 PM

@mulefool - I'll be 1 row behind you.

I need help, nothing comes for me, I need for Friday 16, do they release more tickets for gral sale, or they release everything for presale?

Scuderia1 - 1/3/2012 at 02:39 PM

This will depend on how willing you are to walk around the city. If money is a concern, I can recommend where I stayed last year. I stayed at a Holiday Inn Express on 57th St (Midtown Manhattan). It was probably a 15 minute walk to the Beacon. Like I said, if you are trying to save money.. You might want to consider this. I payed under $200/night. The room was comfortable and clean. And I felt completely safe walking around the area. Be it day or evening.

I flew in from out of town last year, so I was trying to save a bit on the hotel. Also, I really enjoyed having a walk to and from the beacon. My girlfriend and I walked several different routes and ran into unique shops and restaurants along the way. We stopped for cupcakes, cookies and food we couldn't otherwise enjoy!

There is also a subway station about 3 blocks away. We travelled via subway to avoid exorbitant taxi fees. Hope everything works out for you!

jbpats0823 - 1/3/2012 at 05:17 PM

Can somebody PM me the presale pword? Never got the email or the peachogram in my past newsletters.
I assume all days are sold out but still want to check it out as I take my girlfriends father every year... its our tradition.

uga643 - 1/3/2012 at 09:52 PM

Got 4 seats in the Loge row G for Friday 3/16. Taking wife and both daughters, all are ABB fans. I have been following them from the early 70's down in Georgia.

We stayed last year at the Iroqouis down on 45th and Broadway. Good hotel, couple of blocks from Times Square to the south and Central Park to the north. About $200 a night for two. Took a cab last year but subway access nearby.

Can't wait, this was late Christmas presents for the whole family

theturtle - 1/3/2012 at 11:30 PM

Just got Row F on the Aisle Loge................... WOO HOO !!!! March 10 Going to get more now !!!!

rtrack - 1/4/2012 at 02:09 AM

just got row h loge 3/24 through amex $342.18 for 2 tix

I think I'm only going to 2 shows because it really is a lot if you want to go multiple nights between dinner, the cab ride home, etc

I guess (I say tongue in cheek) my Wanee credit on moogis will be worth something

does anyone think there's any shot at video this year?

After you click on which date you would like to attend: select the Number of tickets you would like from the dropdown menu just beneath "American Express Cardmember Presale." This is the column where there is ONLY a dropdown menu for number of tickets. There is no box to the right of the drop-down for a password.

Then, instead of picking my price I wanted: I went to the bottom and picked what area I'd like to sit in. From there, only certain prices will appear in the "price" drop-down. I'd probably do 'best available' first and see what you get. If you are unhappy with the price, then follow the same steps and pick a price AFTER you choose the area in which you want to sit.

It took me a while to find tickets to the general area where I wanted to sit. But I kept adjusting the order in which I selected items from the drop-down menu's. The steps I told you about above were the most successful for me. I hope everything works out for you! Be patient! But remember this: Even if you aren't 100% happy with the seat you get in pre-sale. It is NOT easy to get tickets when they hit general admission.. Some get lucky. But if you don't: You're going to be paying a pretty penny on mark-up from face value. My best advice, especially if you are travelling across country, is try to make pre-sale work. Good luck!

Row O on the 25th- will try for more on reg sale or spare ticks

Finally hit on my favorite area! Tuesday March 13, Lower Balcony. Row A, Seats 7-13. Psyched and over-ready for a great night.

First year without my good friend Barry, who passed away last year from 9/11 related Cancers.

Thanks to all involved for the presale.

See you at the Beacon.

Stay safe.

TRMGDEAD - 1/5/2012 at 09:29 PM

I don't fly but I think it would be easiest to go into Newark. From there you can go through either of the tunnels depending on where you are staying in the Manhattan. I've been going to the Beacon to see the ABB since 2003 and it is always a great time! See you there.

RCCola - 1/6/2012 at 03:06 PM

BS...no matches being found!

FDNYPeachFan - 1/6/2012 at 03:17 PM

Wow....what a disheartening morning....

I was sitting here at my computer, ticketmaster loaded and I searched for tickets RIGHT at 10am. I couldn't get anything in the center loge in ANY price range for a Tuesday night. This is getting rediculous. I love the Brothers, but someone is F'ing us regular old fans.

How many tickets get set aside for these "Gold" packages and what not. I even tried searching for best available on Price Tier 1 and got no matches! This is truly B.S.!

....and what a surprise....StubHub has over 500 tickets for many of the run and it's only 10:20am. At this point, I'd rather pay them all the extra money!

[Edited on 1/6/2012 by FDNYPeachFan]

TheGuru - 1/6/2012 at 03:21 PM

FDNY,

Looks like we both got the FU Package being offered by the band this year. Something is very different this year and it ain't good. I was planning on making the 3.24.12 show (my 65th) my last ABB show. Apparently that happened on December 3, 2011 in Boston. These sales were a **** show in my opinion and I am done with them.

fireman12engine - 1/6/2012 at 03:23 PM

i hear ya FDNY....no standard admission seats but if you want the "gold package' they are there....total BS.....
the Brothers should fix this.....us hardcore fans deserve the "gold" seats because in reality we pay their salaries by going to numerous shows, by numberous shirts and cd's and support all their side projects.....

bandobrocks - 1/6/2012 at 03:31 PM

Same "luck" here...Absolutely nothing…my entire family from their respective work also got shut out…we got one hit for the 225 per ticket…and then actually lost them anyway somehow (which I may be happy about). Through the roof…I am hoping that more tix will be released later on. Tix prices are really high this year and we can’t seem to get them anyway. Is it fans, scalpers, or companies eating up all these tix? I just don’t think its all the fans this time around.

I was fortunate to get a few balcony tix via presale…I am super grateful about that!

jbpats0823 - 1/6/2012 at 03:33 PM

Didnt even bother to look at 10.... always sold out before it goes onsale after so many various presales and package offerings. Never received the presale password until it was too late.
The last three years I got tickets through this site so I am not too worried, if you live in the NYC area, tickets always drop a few weeks before the shows... always great seats also. Unfortunately I travel from boston so need a little more notice then a dropped pair. Hoping I get lucky with my friends on this site again who can't use their seats!

FDNYPeachFan - 1/6/2012 at 03:33 PM

Just checked again on TicketBASTARD. If you'd like to sit in the 6th row, Orch LEFT, you can get two seats for A THOUSAND F'ING DOLLARS!

DavidHVanNess - 1/6/2012 at 03:44 PM

It sucks trying so hard and getting nothing. Tickets go on sale but you might as well be buying from aftermarket. They have them but you can't get one the old way. Whatever the market will bear but this sucks. I tryed at 10 but no luck. how do I get presale? Started seeing shows in 74 can't believe it has come to this

nypeachhead - 1/6/2012 at 03:46 PM

Its the same crap every year, it just gets worse every time.

steviewags - 1/6/2012 at 03:46 PM

jscova - 1/6/2012 at 03:56 PM

i had a rep on the phone at ticketmaster just a couple of minutes past 10am. had to go through a list of 5 or 6 dates just to find one with 4 tix available. 3/21 and take whatever seats they available. F'ing lame!

AllmansForever - 1/6/2012 at 04:09 PM

Was unable to find any upper balcony for March 10th during pre-sale and had the same experience this morning at 10am. I eventually called TM to talk to a live person. There were two singles left in the entire Beacon for 3/10, yet looking at stubhub there are plenty. WTF!

As a devoted fan who is trying to make it to the Beacon for the 11th straight year, this is nothing but disappointing. Yeah sure i can go buy from stubhub but it seems the real fans get screwed.

If anyone has tickets they want to sell (3 please) for upper or lower balc on 3/10, please let me know.

Thanks, had to vent...

bandobrocks - 1/6/2012 at 04:15 PM

Yes Suzie, the email is out. Based on your registration date, you qualify for the presale. You have to be registered by 12-23, so you should be good.

Anyone who registers later will have their tix cancelled, even if they do somehow get the passcode via email or otherwise.

I would check my spam filter or, failing that, go to the Newsletters section and click view past newsletters. In the past, the full email was viewable that way. As of now it is not posted, but maybe it will be later (or your email may just be delayed). Or try the AMEX presale if none of that works.

Brock, I registered before that but was not sent the newsletter/pw. Writing to an admin (rowland) i was told that they didn't have me under that email, and yet that was the email I used to sign in. I am also signed up for the newsletter. Do you have any idea what could be the problem so I could get in next year? I do think making the newsletter available online as you say has been done would be a great idea so that all eligible members can take advantage of the pre-sale. (i was going to PM you, couldn't find how --if you want to PM me, please do.) Thanks.

Edited to add: Thanks to everyone who said standing is for O and not L. Last year I was in O and had a good time. Through regular sale, by buying "silver" (eek) I did secure a ticket on the aisle row M, left center...if anyone is going on the 14th, please lemme know!

Ooops, I see my registration date shows 1/1 even though it said 12/17 for me at first. I guess I had to change my pw too so it pushed me up. Maybe I'll have better luck next time.

Sorry for your troubles. I'd say write down your password so you do not have to change it again (though I have no idea why a change would alter your registration date). Also check your account under the menu to confirm your email the site shows. Or get an AMEX card-the Optima is fee-free, and works in the presale.

I am very surprised that the admins chose not to post the Peach o Gram email in the Newsletters section as they always have. They no doubt got a lot more PMs than otherwise would have been the case had they done so.

If you are motivated, keep checking TM for the shows you want. They will pop up from time to time going forward. The 7-10 days before the show is the most likely time, but last yr they were occasionally popping up from the onsale onward. I found last yr that Tues afts at about 4-5 pm was a good time to look. Good luck!

They did not sell the tickets at the box office today. I went. There were 4 other people there. I asked about ABB tickets and was told they do not sell them day of. The other 4 people all were like "What?!" "What a waste of time!" hahaha all of us were there for ABB tix.

tclawrence - 1/7/2012 at 10:44 PM

I stopped by The Beacon on 1/4 to ask when they would be selling ABB tix. I was told that any remaining tickets would be available at the box office on Saturday 1/7 at 11AM. I did not get a chance to stop by today, but will make a point of stopping by Sunday (if they are open) or Monday to check if they have any tickets available. I was lucky with the pre-sales and got tickets for all 3 Saturday shows. (Big thanks to Lana & co) But I will check out the Beacon box office and post my findings here. Those of you who were unable to get tickets, please remember that more tickets are usually released for sale during the run.

"Sorry for your troubles.

Good luck!"

Thanks, Brock...Yes, I was sorry that my registration date changed from Dec 17 to Jan. 1 with a change of pw. I read in this forum that the same thing happened to someone else too. I have the pw written down now. I did get a ticket, because I am coming in from out of state and didn't want to wait until the last minute. Plus I was coming to NYC this year at the time of the shows anyway. Your words are much appreciated...--a
