and (2) have most allman fans seen the classic photo of duane and ec on stage at the derek & the dominoes show in 1970 (w/ carl radle in the backround) tampa, florida?

Nice find, Not listed as a show on the database. The drawings don't look like the players in the band at all.

hey big where can i look this up?..database? is there a collector or site that could be referred to as an authority, thanks for answering my 1st post!

BIGV - 5/5/2009 at 07:40 PM

Just to the left... is the Menu, scan down and click on the "Live show data base"

It is possible it is real. The only reason the Jan. 19th show, a few days later, is in the database is because I contacted Rowland and told him I went to a show in Athens about that time, and he posted the date. He knew it, but could only post it if someone asked about it. Part of an arrangement between him and Kirk, I think.

Welcome to the site, faceman. I'd ask Rowland if he knows anything about this show date.

Thank you SCB, what do you mean when you say "It is possible it is real?...that a real show took place that night, or that the poster may be a fake? I can't remember if this show went on or not, I do have stubs from their hollywood, Fl show a coupla weeks before this one. but whether the jan 14 th concert went on or not, i can assure you the poster is an authentic allman brothers poster...wow, can you imagine how rare this might be?!
FWIW, I used to be the 'house photographer' for the promotor, Leas Campbell.

I meant a real show date. Which would make the poster real, too. I'm just saying because it isn't in the database here doesn't mean the show didn't happen. Have you PMed Rowland about it?

faceman - 5/7/2009 at 06:00 AM

I did pm rowland, haven't heard back from him.
i tried googling allman bros, curtis hixon, the date,etc...etc, nothing matched up.

faceman - 5/7/2009 at 08:04 AM

"Where music plus friends equals family"...does that include Cher?

faceman - 5/8/2009 at 10:24 PM

it's legit! rowland checked it out, verified it, and added it to the database.
so, now hear this. i will be offering this handbill on ebay soon, it's going to be wild!
start planning your strategies..it's kinda, err what's the word i'm looking for...? oh,
RARE!

Cool poster faceman but does Rowland know you included a link back to this website in your ebay listing? Don't know whether that is encouraged or discoiuraged.
