Nice, I think the NYC Bitch committee did the same with a Black Crowes show from Jones Beach '06ish? Rich did a great version of The Seeker. Instant Live sound over the video made it a sweet view.

I was intrigued by this as Carlos is a great guitarist. Only listened for a bit so far and it doesn’t quite seem to mesh on Mtn Jam. There are not many who can step up, fit in and even add to the ABB magic. Scofield is one. I was surprised how good Frampton was when he sat in. Other musicians who “get it” would be the likes of Brecker on Trumpet or Trombone Shorty to name a few. Not sure on the Santana sit in but will listen some more.

RE: Carlos we're going back almost 50 years but I didn't think he melded with Bloomfield?Kooper either.

Carlos is a legend but I'm not sure he is much of a supporting/ensemble player. I love some his albums but I may be inclined to call him a one-trick-pony. That one trick is ONE HELL of a trick, mind you...

The ABB opened for Santana? Did not know that.

Lee, they were a real double bill; each band did a full show. I do think that they rotated who would play first and who would play second; I saw them in CT and Carlos went first.

Makes snse. Several years ago Sandman, coot and I went to Red Rocks to The ABB with String Cheese Incident. They did the same thing. ABB closed the first night. We sat through SCI the first night and got The ABB early the second and then left.

I think it was the same thing a few years ago here in Chicago with Ratdog.

A number of the last few summer tours swapped opener/closer with Skynyrd, Tom Petty, Santana. Ratdog I believe always opened for the Allmans.

They most certainly did not swap any opening for Petty. Petty was the headliner period. And Skynyrd to my recollection opened all co billed shows.
