Mills, Ralph Howard "Bo",
55, recently passed away. He was born April 15th 1962 in Louisville, to Ralph J. and Cecilia F. Mills. He graduated from duPont Manual High School class of 1980 and attended Centre College, where he studied marine biology. He served in the US Army from 1982-1985 in the 82nd Airborne. After leaving the Army, he was employed by the City of Louisville as Title Abstractor in the Law Department for 14 years.
He loved music - especially the Allman Brothers Band. Ralph was an early adopter of the internet, and before the age of social media, used his writing skills to become friends with a wide variety of fellow fans from all walks of life. Those friendships led to Ralph travelling widely for some years to Allman Brothers concerts across the country with friends, who recall Ralph's gentle spirit, musical literacy, and endlessly creative sense of humor.
He struggled with bipolar disorder most of his adult life. Much-loved and well-remembered, Ralph is keenly mourned. Ralph was known as a punmeister's punmeister with a lightning quick wit. He also had a lifelong love of fishing - it didn't matter if he caught anything - he never gave up and enjoyed the experience. We hope he is now at peace listening to his favorite band and catching fish to his heart's content.
In addition to his parents he leaves behind a brother Allen Mills (Twila), a sister Alexis Mills, and a niece Virginia Reams along with other loving family members and friends.
In lieu of flowers donations to Wellspring of Kentucky in his name would be appreciated. They were a critical piece in providing care during his battle with bipolar disorder.
May the circle be unbroken.

Thanks Tim. Some of it is from a family member, some from me (guess which parts - ha!) and it was edited and the tag line added by Bob Beatty.
They VERY first time I visited NYC, at nearly 41 years old, Ralph was my roommate. And the next year too. At the biggest preshow we ever held at our home - July 4, 1999, well over 100 people, on a bet I had to wear a UK National Champs t-shirt after losing a bet to Ralph, who made it over from Louisville for the show. Ralph did the 1999 West Coast run with a gaggle of listserv peeps, did the Beale Street Blues Festival with some other peachheads the year the ABB were there. I know he attended some legendary mid-to-late 1990's Louisville Palace shows as well.
It's not difficult to read between the lines, but there for 8 or 10 years, Ralph had a pretty great time on the listserv and seeing the Brothers.
