Was tonight 3 years ago that our boys played for the last time as The Allman Brothers Band. Thank you to everyone who made it happen.

Long love the Allman Brothers Band.

I remember how emotional I was the day before and all day on the 28th three years ago. I really, really wanted to be in NYC, but it was the right thing at the time (for the family budget) to not spend the money. It hurt not be there in person. I had to lean on my memories and connections to friends from 10 trips to the Beacon and 10 to Wanee and so many other great times & great shows. The live disc from that last night is soooo good.

Missing the final night definitely motivated me to make the last minute decision to head to PeachFest this year knowing that Warren, Jaimoe, Oteil, Chuck, Jack and Marc were going to share the stage (probably for the last time) with Lamar, Devon, Duane B, Duane T, Berry, and Vaylor. Hearing Jessica, Whipping Post, Please Call Home and so many other classics with that crew over two days was everything I hoped it would be.

As for the final ABB show, it comes with some pride as a fan that the Brothers went out on such a high note with those last two shows!
