Thread: Corey Stevens wishfully writes for Gregg

I believe I read this on Steven's wbsite. He wrote the song "The Brothers" for Duane and Gregg in the hopes Gregg would record it with no luck. So he recorded himself and god I love this song. Loved it first, then found why he wrote it which was a bonus. Such a great tune, cant find it on youtube tho. Anyone who is interested should support Corey and check out that album "Blue Drops of Rain." Here's the lyrics:

The Brothers
Written By Corey Stevens

To my brother and the good times we had
I sing this song
There's never been another so bad
Lord I've had to carry on

I've walked a lonely road and
I've wondered where I might I have been
Without the brothers, you and me
The brothers to the end

It seems like only yesterday you had
A guitar in your hands
Playing like your life depended on it
In the battle of the bands

We fought and won our wars and
We wondered where we might have been
Without the brothers, you and me
The brothers to the end

A twist of fate took you away
I've tried so hard to forget that day
Can't hide this hurt, I'll carry it with me to my grave
Cause in my heart, that's where the brothers stay

Yea I think so. I really like "Albertville" too. Abert King covers. He barely plays out, but now that I'm in Illinois for a few years, one of his 5 gigs is around here so I'm gonna try to catch it.

His Cd Dreaming Man was my CD of the year last year. I downloaded from itunes. Never have seen it in a store. Recommend it to all guitar lovers. He is very underrated. worth checking out.

I remember when he first came out in the mid 90's. Kinda lost track of him since.
