Thread: Derek & Susan European Tour

Mathieu - 1/26/2011 at 10:44 PM

First gig has been announced!
Shepherds Bush in London (UK): June 29
That many other gigs may follow!!

BTW: Same timeframe that Gregg is in Europe.

ABBDutchFan - 1/26/2011 at 10:53 PM

So the rumour that they will perform together in Bonn might be true.......

scotiadave - 1/27/2011 at 09:35 AM

Nice thanks

manitou - 1/27/2011 at 09:47 AM

Not on sale yet..its gone 9am... the O2 have no knowledge of this event

harvey - 1/27/2011 at 10:15 AM

Neither do the venue or any of the UK ticket agencies ... so what is it with this pre-sale guys?

manitou - 1/27/2011 at 10:20 AM

A guy I spoke to at O2 box office said it may pop up on the list later ..keeping my eyes peeled!

JimRudge - 1/27/2011 at 11:21 AM

Upstairs 1st Balcony everyone? I'm on O2 mobile and get info on presales, but nothing so far.

Alan, are you coming down - shall I book the Grantley where we stayed last time? If so is your mate coming down again?

manitou - 1/27/2011 at 11:31 AM

Im on Orange so no tip off for me... gonna sit here and stare at my laptop

alans - 1/27/2011 at 02:03 PM

Did someone mention beer

harvey - 1/27/2011 at 02:07 PM

Of course!!! ...

alans - 1/27/2011 at 02:13 PM

I'll look forward to seeing you Colin, and all the rest of the guys as well

JimRudge - 1/27/2011 at 02:20 PM

Hic!

Was thinking about making this a London double header with Arcade Fire at Hyde Park the following night. Cash is tight for ticket buying this month though, so DTST are priority, and with waiting for Gregg announcement...maybe no Arcade Fire after all.

Meant to say, just checked the O2 "Blue Room" site where all the priority bookings are listed (need to be a O2 user) - nothing showing yet.

EnglishDarren - 1/27/2011 at 04:57 PM

Still nothing on the ticket front, has anybody got any more info?

Shavian - 1/27/2011 at 09:39 PM

The way the Gregg dates are shaping up, it could be a douible header in London in quick succession!

I will definitely be up for Derek & Susan, Level One balcony, O'Neill's etc etc.

PS Would I like the Black Crowes?

alans - 1/27/2011 at 10:17 PM

PS Would I like the Black Crowes?

I sure you would love them Gordon and I wish they would come a bit further north

DerekAndSusanBand - 1/27/2011 at 10:21 PM

Sorry for the ticketing confusion, the show was scheduled to go on sale today but didn't happen so it's all been pushed back a day. The pre-sale is midday tomorrow and the public on-sale starts Monday (1/31) at Noon. All times London local.

I agree ... "an evening with" Derek and Susan would be better ... unless it is Matt Schofield ...

JimRudge - 1/28/2011 at 12:05 PM

Got mine ! Level 1 Balcony Unreserved - means cutting down on O'neills time to get in for front row seats though! Just need to get there earlier!

Public sale now Monday 31st.

I got one too Jim ... Level 1 Balcony Unreserved ... fortunately I will have retired by then so no problem with getting there early ... if you are going to stay over at that hotel again I might join you ... that way we can have plenty of post-show drinks instead of pre-show ...

Shavian - 1/28/2011 at 12:19 PM

Link from the dTb website just takes you to the general O2 website.

Looks like the public sale on Sunday, which shouldn't be a problem.

How mcuh are tickets, Jim?

harvey - 1/28/2011 at 12:22 PM

Hi Gordon ... ticket was £22-50 plus £5-06 service fee = £27-56 (O2 redirects to "Ticketweb")

Shavian - 1/28/2011 at 12:32 PM

Thanks, Colin.That's very reasonable!

Glad to hear you are joining the ranks of the retired soon - you have earned it!

I can recommend it, too!

Ritchie - 1/28/2011 at 01:24 PM

I noticed there was a post from DEREKANDSUSAN on this thread, so this must be the place where i can beg for them to play local in 2011, and someone will listen to me..

PLEASE PLAY IRELAND!!! PREFERABLY VICAR STREET!!!

Thanks

ABBDutchFan - 1/28/2011 at 05:32 PM

Since i'm from the southern part of the Netherlands i would prefer a show in the Netherlands themselves or across the border in Germany (Bonn, Cologne, etc.) or Belgium (Brussels, Antwerp, Peer, etc.). But it would also be mighty cool to catch Derek & Susan, Warren or Gregg show in Dublin! Big love for Ireland here!!!

scotiadave - 1/28/2011 at 06:47 PM

i got tix for Dez and Sez too ... balcony unreserved sweet .. has been a while :~)

geordielad - 1/28/2011 at 06:58 PM

Hmm, this is where the moving back to civilisation thing falls down, midweek gigs by bands who only play London!

Shavian - 1/28/2011 at 08:08 PM

Are you back up north then, Keith?

That was sneaky!!!

manitou - 1/28/2011 at 08:09 PM

Just got my (well bought anyway!) my Derek and Susan ticket for Shephards bush!

WHOOOOO and indeed HOOOOOO!!

Shavian - 1/28/2011 at 08:20 PM

The link from the dTb website takes you The Ticket Factory which seems to offer Standing tickets only.

Is that what everyone is getting? Or are you all on O2?!

EnglishDarren - 1/28/2011 at 08:31 PM

I got standing tickets,I want to be up close

Greetings, Sally!

Robert Randolph would be a great support for Derek & Susan. Even if they are not supporting throughout, I hope they have lots of European dates as they are great live (no dates on their website yet).

Looking forward to it.

see you there Mark!

Yeah moved back last month Gordon by way of 7 weeks in New Orleans. Had my flat up for sale in London since last January. Everything seemed to go really quickly at the end and before I knew it I was off. Still planning to visit the big Smoke for gigs and the odd Newcastle game but midweek is difficult......... Having said that I just booked a trip to see Gregg in Spain, flying on a Wednesday.

ABBDutchFan - 1/30/2011 at 08:50 AM

I more and more start to have a gut feeling that Gregg Allman's Bonn, Germany show
will be a double or triple bill. Wouldn't be surprised if Derek & Susan will perform as well.
Show starts much earlier than others at this open air venue. Jimmie Vaughan & The Tit A Whirl Band is another option. Show will probably be filmed and broadcasted by Rockpalast.
Hope it's all true. Would be a concert highlight for 2011 for sure.

Mathieu - 1/30/2011 at 04:53 PM

Bonn often has double bills.
Bonnemassa & Jeff Beck last year
Devon & Mule a few years back
Willy de Ville & Dickey as well.
So why not this year?
17.00 hours leaves room for another headliner, a headliner at least as popular (in Germany) as Gregg

NickQuaeck1 - 1/30/2011 at 05:17 PM

Brilliant, got two tickets for my son and myself. So looking forward to seeing Derek's new band, although God knows I miss dTb. Should be a blast although I wish the Empire would invest in a modern PA system. The current unit is antiquated and frankly bludy awful! Mike was struggling last time around. I followed the band to Sheffield and Manchester where the sound was so much better despite the venues! Same in Glasgow and newcastle a few months later.
Bring them on....

Shavian - 2/18/2011 at 11:43 PM

June 29: London - Shepherds Bush
June 30:
June 31: Special show, by invitation only
July 1:
July 2:
July 3:
July 4:
July 5: Stuttgart - Jazz Open
July 6:
July 7: Paris – Trianon Theatre
July 8:
July 9: Rotterdam – North Sea Jazz Festival
July 10: Bonn – Museumsplatz (with Gregg Allman Band)

Rasc - 2/19/2011 at 12:10 AM

I've posted it already in the Derek section but in case anyone hasn't seen it we've got Robert Randolph & the Family Band supporting at SBE. A right result, should keep Derek & Susan on their toes!

Shavian - 2/19/2011 at 10:47 AM

That is FANTASTIC news!!

The roof will be coming off that night, for sure! And all the more reason to queue for a Level one, Row one seat!

Colin - when does the old, retired geezers' boozing session start?

I may have to consider some extra dates! I wonder if any other UK are envisaged. If not, Paris - Le Trianon theatre in Montmartre looks great.

ABBDutchFan - 2/19/2011 at 11:14 AM

July 10: Bonn – Museumsplatz ( with Gregg Allman Band) would be a cool alternative as well...

Shavian - 2/19/2011 at 11:18 AM

Yeah, but Paris is much more accessible from London (and more fun than Bonn...........!!!).

ABBDutchFan - 2/19/2011 at 11:19 AM

Wonder what time they go on stage on July 9 at Rotterdam – North Sea Jazz Festival....
wishful thinking and pure speculation but it's only a short drive to the Bospop Festival site for a guest appearance with Gregg Allman

ABBDutchFan - 2/19/2011 at 11:22 AM

Sorry for the multi posting but what's actually the source for this info (can't find anything on the WWW):

June 29: London - Shepherds Bush

June 31: Special show, by invitation only
July 1:

Guest appearance of Derek at Bospop with Gregg?? Little chance I'm afraid.

2 years back Susan had a gig in Haarlem (?) in the Netherlands the day before North Sea Jazz Festival where Derek would play.
Derek and his DTB were IN the house sitting on the balcony.
Susan tried to persuate him to join in, but it didn't happen.
Apparently the North Sea Jazz contract didn't allow Derek to play anywhere else in the Netherlands (that week)???? Although, that has been rumoured. True or not, I don't know.

I wouldn't be surprised if such stipulations are part of a contract. Would be cool though if
they would be guesting.
