Libby is having surgery on Friday at Emory Hospital in Atlanta.
Please keep her in your prayers...
I feel that you can never have too many prayers so I've included a thread here as well as RedRider has one in the WP, there's one in AG, and posts have been made in GB.

Libby posted this in the GB:
" I really wasn't expecting this, I have only confided in a small few. I don't like attention and I certainly didn't want to take anything away from the Beacon festivities and joy. However, I do appreciate the thoughts and prayers. I am humbled.
I have a tumor on my pancreas, the condition is called Insulinoma. The bright side is that my tumor is on the outside of my pancreas.
These tumors are benign 90% of the time in most patients as opposed to tumors located inside the pancreas. The bad thing: these tumors outside the pancreas have hormones inside that freak the pancreas out and cause it to spill copious amounts of insulin causing my blood sugars to be dangerously low. Normal is 80-100. I'm running in the 20's and 30's.
I was recently hospitalized for a stone that had escaped from the pancreas and lodged in the pancreatic duct, Man, did that hurt! This is when Imaging discovered the tumor.
I was at Emory today for pre-op workup and my surgeon has decided to put the surgery off until possibly Monday, my blood sugar is too low. However, once I can maintain a blood sugar in the 50's, he will remove the tumor and allow pathology to take over testing to determine whether benign or malignant. In most patients, once the tumor is removed, they are considered cured and the insulin release stabalizes to normal. Again, that statistic is 90%. That's where I want to be.
I have a very strong faith, I remain optimistic...again, thank you all for the kind thoughts and prayers.
As always, the O'Brien, Dodd, Quinn, Seaman and Bomberry families remain in my prayers along with Bill, Tony, Hop and Lefty. "
