Thread: Photos from 3/30 or 3/31

Pastdreams - 4/3/2007 at 01:16 PM

Thought I'd start a thread that we could all find for y'all with cameras over the weekend. Anxiously looking forward to seeing pictures of the festivities.
I do see that some are already on the Gallery.

Well, I posted my pix from the Sweeties party already; look for them in the thread entitled "Sweeties party pix online." As for actual 3/30 show pictures, I was fortunate enough to be up front so I have a few nice shots of the show. Not a lot though, but some. They can be accessed here.

Enjoy!!

Hi, Lizzy. I was the guy sitting in the room with Slammer when you came up asking about Linnie. Had I known that lovely lady was you, I certainly would have introduced myself. Anyway, nice to "kinda" meet ya. We'll have to make sure we do it right next time.

Peace.

Hi Laura - I don't believe we had the opportunity to meet, an unfortunate circumstance I'm sure.

I couldn't seem to find the "Sweeties party pix online" thread. Could you please provide a link or bump up the thread?

Thanks.

Well, shoot, great to meet ya sort of. Linnie and I were saying that we all should really wear nametags with out screennames and our real names. I bet everybody in that party room KNEW each other but didn't know who each other was.

Hey, Droogie...that's cuz I gave you the wrong title. It's "Sweeties party PICTURES online." DOH! I bumped it, plus here's the link: http://www.allmanbrothersband.com/modules.php?op=modload&name=XForum&file=v iewthread&tid=58948

A tip: next time you want to find a thread that you know someone started or posted to, just do a search under their username. That's how I found the thread pretty painlessly!

Okay, I took a few pictures - a bunch, actually, but most of them are the "golly gee, it's my first time in NYC" variety. There are a few of those below, but in general, I tried to keep the selection relevant to the parties and forum crowd.

Here's a shot at the Sweeties party. Just sort of a general "crowd" shot, with Benjamin and Jacquie pictured as well as Chicagofan (Julie, back turned).

The next five are of some fine fellas jammin.' I think that's the ghost of No1toRunWith in the third one. The last one, featuring bluedad turned out pretty good, IMO. I can easily see that shot on the cover of a DVD.

Marquis shots, more for my own memories than anything else:

Catching Gregg signing something for somebody, while Kirk looks on:

A four-story Toys 'R Us with a frickin' Ferris Wheel inside . . . only in NYC, I guess:

Some sort of Ferrari club - this is only one shot showing a few cars, there were at least 20 of them:

A couple of shots of the John Lennon memorial (if it has a more specific name, I'm not aware of it):

Don't know the name of it, but I thought this was a beautiful building, and a great photo op:

Just a local guy buskin' on his horn, and doing it quite well:

Two great dudes - Haisija and BigDaveOnBass, for those keeping score:

Help, I've been captured by the Hayseed Mafia (and Linnie):

Two personalities from the Songlines Live DVD:

Marley about to bust Susan in the chops with his bass:
No, just kidding. I believe that is Marley's brother Tyler's bass, which Susan has just signed.

Susan throwing down some licks on the Gibson up for auction (she bid on it, btw).

Susan and a very happy Droogie:

The last thing I ate in NYC: A corned beef from the Carnegie Deli. Hard to go in there and NOT act like a geeky tourist, so I didn't try.

Buppalo1 - 4/3/2007 at 09:04 PM

Nice, Droogie....enjoyed spending some time with you.

WharfRat - 4/3/2007 at 09:08 PM

Great pics Droog, it was a pleasure being your roomate

Oh, and those Lennon pics are from Starwberry Fields

schneile - 4/3/2007 at 09:09 PM

I second that! Hope to meet you next time, Droog!

Also, the name of the John Lennon memorial is, simply, Strawberry Fields.

More info here.

TopDroog - 4/3/2007 at 10:02 PM

Oh, I see. Thanks for that clarification. I thought "Strawberry Fields" was the name for that general area of the park, not just that tiled tribute.
