Thread: Beacon tix - Orch for $54.99

gondicar - 1/8/2007 at 09:43 PM

Sorry, I was feeling left out as the only person who hadn't started a Beacon thread.

This is just out of curiousity more than anything...anyone know where the $54.99 Orchestrea section tickets are? Ticketbastard lists the following prices:

ORCHESTRA
US $54.99 - US $94.99

LOGE**FIRST LEVEL ABOVE ORCHESTRA
US $94.99

BALCONY
US $54.99

So what does $54.99 get you in the Orchestra?

nypeachhead - 1/8/2007 at 09:58 PM

just guessing that there are no 54.99 orch. seats. That first line is just giving the range of prices.

Lee - 1/8/2007 at 09:59 PM

The weeknight seats are cheaper than weekends, but I doubt they are that cheap.

nypeachhead - 1/8/2007 at 10:01 PM

hey Lee, will you be at the Beacon the weekend of the 30th??

Well, after shaking the Magic 8-Ball, it tells me...

..."It is a strong possibility".

I thought that as well, but they list each ticket section seperately...Loge $94.99 and Balcony $54.99, and only the Orchestra has the range of $54.99 to $94.99.

What I listed was for the weekend shows, the highest price for the midweek shows is $15 less at $79.99 (no difference on the lower price seats). But they also show a range for the Orchestra for the midweek shows as well...here's a screengrab that shows what I am talking about:

Perhaps there are some obstructed view seats, like right behind the soundboard or something? Like I said, I'm mostly just curious because I had never noticed this before.

Check with Bluedad or BigDaveonBass - might be those 2 row ZZ seats...

So, I guess this explains the e-mail confirmation I got from TM

Allman Brothers Band
Beacon Theatre, New York, NY
Fri, Mar 30, 2007 08:00 PM

Seat location: section ORCH, row H, seat 34
Total Charge: $69.69

If it was obstructed view it would have to state that, correct? And I don't remember any OV seats in the orchestra. Maybe, because some seats are way off to the side they are selling them cheaper.

Any other ideas?

Terri, I think that was the Handicapped - Wheelchair only!! seat. That came up a couple of times when I was trying.

You can always rent a wheelchair for that night!!

(copied this from BDOB post in tickets section because I couldn't recall where it was over here)

Terri - if you got Orch H 34, looks like it is first row of triangular area (far right orch) in above pic. I've never been to Beacon but these appear to be good seats (and cheaper!) Just curious - are there obstructed areas?

bluefox - 1/9/2007 at 02:28 AM

The first Row with seat numbers 30-54(even numbers) begins with row J on the seating chart.

Similar question -

Is lower balc A clear viewing or is the Loge section directly in front of it?

ie effectivetly are their 3 balcony's?

And by the way - excuse my ignorance but how do you prononce Loge?

Loge(1 syllable, hard O sound) is below the balcony, not in front of it.

Clear view, but up high. The upper balcony is behind the lower balcony.

Loge is pronounced, uhhh...how do you spell it?

lo (long o) with a frenchy sounding j.

Uh, what am I gonna do with that ticket, and why did TM sell it to me?

I also have a row K in the loge and it appears that the loge ends in J.

I might need HELP!!!

bluefox - 1/9/2007 at 02:51 AM

Lower balcony is closer to the stage than the Loge but is higher than the Loge

Go to the Merriam-Webster dictionary and they will pronounce it for you...

http://www.m-w.com/dictionary/Loge

The loge sits back underneath the balcony...it would be considered the Mezzanine area of the theater.

lolasdeb - 1/9/2007 at 02:53 AM

Terri - Mitzi (greggswoman) was looking to get handicapped accessible for her husband, I think. Believe she got 3/30 and 3/31 but not sure whether she got the handicapped she wanted ... you might ask her (maybe she's got something to trade for your handicapped).

bluefox - 1/9/2007 at 02:54 AM

Well, you have to have someone push your wheelchair so you rent a wheelchair and have one of the Sweeties push you...both of you will be in the orchestra for the show..and you can also have more jello shots because you'll not have to walk...does this solve the problem??

You just have to remember not to stand up or start dancing...

Just kidding, Terri, about this....I know that she would never knowingly take a handicap place from someone.

That seat came up several times when I was looking for April 7th...that's why I remember that it said over on the right hand side in red letters that it was for Wheelchairs only.
