Pretty much the same setlist I saw at MSG. Don't they ever change it up. Derek must go nuts after a while.

EXACTLY what I've been thinking thru the entire tour. The set list is so predictable and stale.
I realize different people are seeing the show in different towns, but come on, basically the order of the songs is even the same.

dadof2boys - 11/12/2006 at 05:42 PM

you may have a point about the setlists--but if you listen &/or attend these shows you may discover,as i did, that the guitar playing is jam packed & diverse & therefore very interesting---also, i'm not sure Derek would agree with you & in fact,as Derek stated in many interviews he has clearly been having a great time.Derek's discussions on "restraint"(a big musical concept of clapton) & his playing since working with Eric(as evident by the 10/28/06 nokia show) has further evolved & developed.Just read Derek's post clapton interviews &,of course, listen to his ever growing talent as a guitarist!

mtnjam67 - 11/12/2006 at 06:04 PM

I've got a handful of the early tour date shows, it's the same show each night. OK, so musically they re arrange the song a bit, that's pushing it while trying to tell me the show is diffrent.

Do ya really think Derek would bad mouth Eric ?

Derek, have you enjoyed being part of the Clapton tour ?

Well, to be prefectly honest with ya , I feel like he's holding me back, I know it's his show but lets play some rock n roll and could we chcnge up the set list a bit ?

We all know Derek would never speak "out of turn" like that and nobodys gonna call out Clapton.

dadof2boys - 11/12/2006 at 08:21 PM

i guess we don't agree--we each hear the same music with different ears so i guess the result can be different--anyway,i hope you enjoyed some of what you heard--peace

Hmmm, pretty much same??.....
I think "Tell The Turth" and "Outside Woman Blues" have never been played ont this tour.
Also acoustic version of "Outside Woman Blues" has never been played, only electrical version.
Yes, it can be sais as there are almost same set list, but these tunes above are big suriprise to me.
Anyway I hope there will be more exciting shows go on!!

A few outside photos and a few comments from a friend of mine in Osaka who had never heard Derek before.

Hi, Jon

I could not find your friend at Osaka jo hall..... Many many people ..... this is outside of a hall.

Well. He was awesome! He was incredible and he has many fans here in Osaka too.
Audience called name "Eric and Derek" both of them. so it was like the show for two of them...really!
When Derek played red cute guitar, Eric turned backward ... so Derek was outstanding,
he was in the spotlight, like his own show!! Audience called his name Derek!
It was funny a bit, because Eric turned his back to audience many many times. I looked for him a few times.
since there is no spotlight ....he was in the dark.... so it made me feel Eric respect and likes Derek so very much.
I like his sounds too, his guitar is like...sounds from heaven....very spiritual.
Eric and Derek are like father and son... There were two boys next to me, and they talked about their sounds,
They are very good at playing a guitar.... so they said many times. Eric also played guitar very well.
Yes both of them are good guitar players...right?

Me neither, Jon....I was just superimposing the song from Layla on the group I saw onstage in B'ham in my mind....then everything just turned to bright white.
