TopDroog - 3/16/2005 at 03:23 PM

That is awesome. If you can't find your favorites on that list, you need to . . . do something, I'm not sure what, though.

oldcoot - 3/16/2005 at 03:30 PM

Razor, I think you're true calling is to be a statistician....

Jeanne - 3/16/2005 at 03:41 PM

Butch, Marc and Jaimoe have only played Drums 4 times? Sheesh...there's 3 of em!! Slackers.

EddieP - 3/16/2005 at 03:41 PM

Amazing...If anyone complains they aren't "mixing it up enough"...they must be slightly crazy...

I would think we'll get 5 or 6 more added to that list before its all said and done...

Amazing...If anyone complains they aren't "mixing it up enough"...they must be slightly crazy...

Eddie, I know you and I think they're mixing it up enough, but I don't think that exempts us from the "slightly crazy" status...

ILABB - 3/16/2005 at 03:58 PM

To save me from scoping through these threads, does anyone know when WP was played? Thanks!

Yeah, I guess you're right Johnny...hope all is well Brudda!

bluefinch - 3/16/2005 at 04:02 PM

I'm just waiting for them to break out some "Brothers of the Road" stuff. "Straight From the Heart" anyone?

Jeanne - 3/16/2005 at 04:06 PM

3/11/05....WP Encore.

fensranger - 3/16/2005 at 04:07 PM

WP was encome last friday evening. Played after MJ and an awesome finish!! I think it will encore at least two more times during the run.

ILABB - 3/16/2005 at 04:08 PM

Thanks Jeanne...........an ENCORE!!!!! Oh I can only wish!!! Bring on the Chgo. dates LOL!

pixielf - 3/16/2005 at 04:17 PM

Thanks, Fens...hope you're right! And hope they do it in Chgo. Only got The Rosemont Show last Sept. and no WP. Got "Dreams" for third song though and "Come On In My Kitchen" ! WP is for sure an Encore to end Encores!

fensranger - 3/16/2005 at 04:24 PM

completely agree, i have only been to 6 ABB shows and 2 were at the fillmore, other 4 at Beacon and was fortunate to have heard it as encore at filmore and last friday. I think you will get it this weekend!!!! Only has come up once so far. Enjoy the shows, wish I was going again this weekend.

ILABB - 3/16/2005 at 04:29 PM

I'm not going but hope they do it for everyone that is! I just pray for it in Chgo. Wow, you went to the Fillmore? Awesome. Nice life indeed

jw3lions - 3/16/2005 at 04:34 PM

No Layla yet. Maybe tomorrow

fensranger - 3/16/2005 at 04:35 PM

just happen to be old enough and in college during fillmore/woodstock years!!! Beacon is alot like the fillmore only the music isnt as good. ABB and a few others are the exception and still rock

johnwott - 3/16/2005 at 05:01 PM

Looks like we are due for a Revival also

Peace
John

Brendan - 3/16/2005 at 05:14 PM

People can you feel it?

fensranger - 3/16/2005 at 05:15 PM

sounds good to me!!!

Bobo - 3/16/2005 at 05:36 PM

I have no idea what Razor's true calling is but thanks so much for the info.

No1ToRunWith - 3/16/2005 at 05:46 PM

Some Songs Not on the list....
Back Where It All Began
All Night Train
Blue Sky
Change My Way of Living
Come and Go
Dimples

fensranger - 3/16/2005 at 06:03 PM

have they play le brer yet pardon my spelling

LexABB - 3/16/2005 at 06:15 PM

Back Where It All Began Dickey good luck
Change My Way of Living Dickey good luck

LexABB - 3/16/2005 at 06:19 PM

Wide variety here I did not realize they had played this much stuff

These days gettin some rotation though ain't it now ( which is fine with me)

Sandman - 3/16/2005 at 07:20 PM

I think songs you could possibly expect to see that aren't on the list yet include:

Come and Go Blues
I've Got Dreams to Remember
Into The Mystic
Layla
All Night Train
Firing Line
Key to the Highway

Maybe Jessica at the Big House show

Maybe another cover or two....

That would put it over 70 different songs....not too shabby....

Sandman - 3/18/2005 at 02:07 PM

Bump with last night's show info...

hastings - 3/18/2005 at 04:28 PM

Awesome work to compile this list.
Little disapointed that the length of each song was not included...... Just Kiddin'

No1ToRunWith - 3/18/2005 at 06:19 PM

I know that Warren palys the brothers songs in Mule shows, (i.e. Soulshine) would ABB do Mule Songs??? Just an idea........

Maybe.....

Mule
Don't Step on the Grass Sam
Thorazine Shuffle
Slackjaw Jezebel
John The Revelator
Trane

Sandman - 3/19/2005 at 01:00 PM

Bump with last night's show info...

Maybe the biggest surprise so far? Only one Whipping Post...heh. Sounded like quite a show last night. You never know what's coming next...

merlin28 - 3/19/2005 at 01:09 PM

Great job Sandman - thanks for all your efforts

Les Brers In A Minor < theyve gotta play this

Sandman - 3/19/2005 at 01:18 PM

I think these songs may have a chance yet:

I've Got Dreams to Remember
Into The Mystic
Layla
All Night Train
Firing Line
Maybe Jessica at the Big House show

spiv - 3/19/2005 at 10:34 PM

when I talk to my non-abb friends and tell them I've seen 5 shows, and more to go - this is how I make my point to them!! can anyone else believe the variety of music they throw into the rotation!?!?!

awesome work sandman - you should do this for a living!

jaimoe69 - 3/19/2005 at 10:44 PM

kinda wonderin about that jessica at bighouse, i've heard chuck is gonna be there, would seem perfect for it wouldn't it? especially since the bighouse should encompass the bands history....it should be interesting to see what they play....

Sandman - 3/20/2005 at 06:49 PM

Bump with last night's show...

That one looks like the best of the bunch so far...

spiv - 3/20/2005 at 07:37 PM

thanks for the update - combine last night with friday's version of egypt, and throw in preachin' blues, and it's the all time show at the beacon. never seen a stormy monday as fierce, and words will not do liz reed justice!

RobJohnson - 3/22/2005 at 02:31 AM

Tonight they have already added "Into The Mystic" and "The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down" bringing us to the magic number of 70! And unlike some people, the ABB did it without steroids

RobJohnson - 3/22/2005 at 02:43 AM

And "All Night Train" makes 71! With Chuck Leavell in the house, there are several juicy options...

RobJohnson - 3/22/2005 at 02:47 AM

...LIKE BLUE SKY!!! 72 and counting...

Sandman - 3/22/2005 at 03:14 AM

And it still leaves:

I've Got Dreams to Remember
Layla
Firing Line
and maybe Jessica....

What a run!

RobJohnson - 3/22/2005 at 03:19 AM

Not to mention High Falls and Les Brers, both of which Chuck has played a time or two. The last time Chuck played with the ABB at the Beacon, they played some great High Falls jams.

Sandman - 3/22/2005 at 03:21 AM

No doubt! I was just trying to be as realistic as possible...but it appears that all bets are off...probably another cover they have never played will be busted out as well...too cool!

EddieP - 3/22/2005 at 03:24 AM

72 Songs! amazing...wasn't it only 6 years ago we were seeing virtually the same set almost every night?

Thats Warren for you...he is as responsible for this as anyone.

RobJohnson - 3/22/2005 at 03:25 AM

Little Martha and Les Brers are 73 and 74 to start the second set! Madness, madness I tell you!

Sandman - 3/22/2005 at 03:26 AM

Looks like 74 songs adding Little Martha and Les Brers....

I'll update the list tomorrow morning....

EddieP - 3/22/2005 at 03:26 AM

Holy Crap!...I repeat...Holy Crap!

Sandman - 3/22/2005 at 03:30 AM

Maybe next year they won't repeat a song...

I mean 74 songs are cool and stuff, but look how many times they've played These Days

RobJohnson - 3/22/2005 at 03:33 AM

You laugh, but to my astonishment somebody was seriously saying that the other day on this site.

Sandman - 3/22/2005 at 03:36 AM

I know...I saw that...

Can't make everyone happy, I guess...

But this run has put a smile on my face and I ain't even there....

Sandman - 3/22/2005 at 03:53 AM

Make it 75 with Dreams to Remember...

Sandman - 3/22/2005 at 04:25 AM

76 with Jessica

Sandman - 3/22/2005 at 04:54 AM

Updated....what run this has been....

PauliG - 3/22/2005 at 04:55 AM

Freakin' 76 songs in one run!?! Man I don't think they played that many from 94-96!!!

(Marley will probably actually have stats to prove that point once he reads this!) hee hee.

I think I might actually go figure that out... This is so exciting

vinsanity231597 - 3/22/2005 at 04:55 AM

and 77 with layla

RobJohnson - 3/22/2005 at 04:57 AM

So does Layla make 77 or am I missing it on the list?

Can I just say the band broke out NINE new songs during the last show of the run? Amazing!

Sandman - 3/22/2005 at 04:58 AM

It makes 77! 9 new songs tonight

Positively4thstreet - 3/22/2005 at 07:04 AM

How does that compare to the last 2 years?
Anyone have the stats on 2003 & 2004

Marley - 3/22/2005 at 07:23 AM

Setlist reports, people.

They played 65 different songs last year. The reports say 67, but at least two were not full songs, just jams or bass solos. Of those 65, Blue Sky, Les Brers, Layla, and Come On In My Kitchen were not played at the Beacon. So they did 61 songs last year at the most.

In '03 they played 59 songs (removed some errors), at the most, 56 at the Beacon.

Pauli's right, and how. Seventy-seven songs in these nine shows. Take a guess how many they played from '94 to '96 before you read on.

FIFTY.

I bet we get a few more tonight...make it 80. A nice round number....

Um, I think I heard Layla at the Beacon last year. Didn't I??

Marley - 3/22/2005 at 02:10 PM

Not according to the database. I remember they didn't do it at any Beacon shows and people wondered whether they had quit playing it.

Jeanne - 3/22/2005 at 02:18 PM

Well HAL could be wrong and not me. Was it 2003 Beacon when Layla was played? Dang it's true...the older you get the faster the time goes!!!!

"Well, I don't think there is any question about it. It can only be attributable to human error. This sort of thing has cropped up before and it has always been due to human error."

Sandman - 3/22/2005 at 02:23 PM

It wasn't played at any of the three 2004 Beacon shows I saw...doesn't mean it wasn't, but seems like I remember talk of them not playing it at last year's run....

[Edited on 3/22/2005 by Sandman]

vinsanity231597 - 3/22/2005 at 02:24 PM

Tonight, I bet they play Jessica again, along with Blue Sky again, as well as some classics like Statesboro, Melissa, and who knows - maybe Dickey will come up and they'll play Ramblin' Man.

CowboyNeil - 3/22/2005 at 02:25 PM

This just shows that this band is refreshed and taking it to another level. They look happy and from what I heard just getting better as they go along. Don't know who to credit but after 35 years to play a fresh set each night, looking forward to the summer shows!

Marley - 3/22/2005 at 02:32 PM

Layla was played at the Beacon in 2003 three times, I was there for one of them.

I would say it is a pretty safe bet that Dickey will not be joining the band tonight. While it would be great, and honestly probably well deserved, I think the bad blood is too thick.

TopDroog - 3/22/2005 at 02:39 PM

Isn't the '03 Beacon when they first started playing it? 3/21/03 sticks in my mind as a classic performance - that might have been the show of the year for the first Peachys.

vinsanity231597 - 3/22/2005 at 02:59 PM

Yeah, Dickey probably won't be joining, but there's always hope, isn't there?

Kragh - 3/22/2005 at 04:01 PM

even if he did join....hold the ramblin' man, I never need to hear that song again.

Yeah Randy. They first played it in '03. I was at the 3/21/03 show that was considered by most to be the best show from that run. I think it was the second time they played Layla. The first being a couple of shows earlier. 2003 was also the first year for "44", "Into The Mystic" and quite a few others....I think I saw the first Mystic on 3/21/03...

Not to take anything away from 3/21/03, but I think SotY was 8/8/03 Atlanta.

We did. First Change is Gonna Come, too. The first Layla was a week earlier, and after a week of shows without it, people started to ask if it was a one-time thing.

8/8/03 won Show of the Year at the first Peachies, and I think 3/21 was second.

Second best is okay with me... 3/21/03 is one of my most played shows. The beginning - first 4 or 5 songs are phenomenal. Glad I was there...we were there...we was there...I know there people there...I'm sure there was.

nypeachhead - 3/22/2005 at 05:21 PM

Yes I was at 3/21/03 as well. Good stuff

I think there may be another 3/21 being played out in your cd palyer Eddie!!!LOL!

RobJohnson - 3/23/2005 at 02:35 AM

My Favorite Things makes 78! If it's as good as the version the Derek Trucks Band played on New Year's Eve, then the Beacon must be a very happy place right now.

Freakin' 76 songs in one run!?! Man I don't think they played that many from 94-96!!!

Pauli's right, and how. Seventy-seven songs in these nine shows. Take a guess how many they played from '94 to '96 before you read on.

I think out of all the songs they played the biggest statistical oddity was probably that they played "Illness" only once...pretty weird considering how much they've played it the last 3 years. I guess Egypt sort of took its spot at least for now. I happen to be a big fan of "Illness" so I hope it sticks around...An occasional appearance would be cool, the more rare it becomes the cooler it will be when they do break it out...

How about Whipping Post only twice...

How about Little Martha even being played?
