Thread: Did the ABB play cover an Arc Angels tune?

magicpeach - 7/25/2004 at 08:28 AM

I just tried to search the ABBase and came up with nothing. I swear I remember hearing the brothers at a concert in the past cover the song "Sent by Angels" by the Arc Angels. Anyone remember them covering this tune?

Anyone? Bueller?

I don't know if they did or not, but I've played it a million times and would be happy to show them how it goes....just kidding. I'm sure Warren has already played it....with Chris Layton and Tommy Shannon.

"Arc Angels" is a great album, by the way.

I love "Too Many Ways to Fall". Killer tune.

If you guys like Arc Angels... Check Out Doyle Bramhall II solo CD's. Jellycream and Welcome. Clapton and BB king covered two of his songs for there Blues album "Marry You" and " I wanna be". Doyles own versions are better in my opinion. He also co wrote the song Superman off of Clapton's reptile release, played on Me and Mr Johnson , and is currently playing in Claptons touring band. He smokes!!!! Here is a link to his website.

I doubt they've ever played it. ABBbase doesn't show anything.

Hey there sweet family,

They haven't. I'd go bananas if they had. My friend Tom Vold and I each personally wore out 3 copies of the Arc Angels cd when it came out hmmm something like 10 years ago. Totally fabu.

Take care and know that you are loved,

Lana

Agreed!

Daughter Amy and I saw there public debut at the KLOL Charity Auction back in 91(?)

We also got acoustic King's X at that one.

And the yearly Night Ranger reunion.

Don't laugh, every year they were one of the best acts of the evening.

Amy was 9 at the time.

Jon Bon Jovi was the special guest that year.

She loved it.

Thanks for the input. It's weird, I just have this memory of hearing that tune covered. Maybe it was one of the opening bands or something, not that I'd ever confuse an opening band with the ABB!

Anyway, I hope they do cover that tune sometime. It's got that great organ in there and the chord progression would be a fun one to hear Derek and Warren tear up over.

It's actually been 12 years since the release of "Arc Angels."

And speaking of Arc Angels, what in the world ever happened to Charlie Sexton?? He was a pretty good singer guitarist. Remember the MTV video for "Beat So Lonely?"

I saw Charlie a couple of years back playing in Dylan's band, did a damn good job too.

If it was indeed '91, I was there. I don't remember the Arc Angels or Night Ranger, but I do remember King's X, Aldo Nova (w/ Jon Bon Jovi), and I believe Paul Rodgers did "Alright Now" with Aldo Nova. Of course, I was only 10 at the time. I had a great time, too. One of the first concerts I ever went to.
