The Brothers go West

You know the Brothers are the Brothers and even on a off or what people might say is sloppy night they are still a great live band, so why is this night any different...? Why is because after the intermission here comes Leslie West along with Corky Lang (Mountain, The Vagrants, West Bruce and Lang, all in all Leslie has been a stable of rock n roll in the New York are since the 60's when I remember him with The Vagrants opening up for The Who at The Village theater before it was the Flmore East and,the Brothers would find a home there), and, they proceed to start the second half of the show with Summertime, Leslie West takes the lead vocal and with his raspy, howlin rock n roll voice lets out that opening note to the song almost like a male version of Janis Joplin and the audience goes nuts as if there was an awakening, between his vocals and guitar playing he added another great dimmension to the Brothers....Leslie with that fat sounding SG and Warren and Derek riffing behind him to me it was magical....Then they followed that with " Born Under a Bad Sign" which was great, however there seemed to be a bit of confusion as to whos turn it was to do what...all in all it was still pretty amazing night at The Beacon

I agree 100%, west was a great addition, a GREAT move,, however, ,, although I would have prefered a little better, well--not better but different set list, what they did was unreal, just super. the closing to the encore " you d love me" was something you dream about, something that you have heard many times, and something you would love to hear live, well, I got it,,,, we all got it,,, the closing was f--k-- beautiful, surreal, brillant, inspireing, listen to the Fillmore closing of that song and you will know what i mean,
