THE ALLMAN BROTHERS BAND
ANNOUNCE POSTPONEMENT OF FOUR REMAINING BEACON THEATRE PERFORMANCES

New York, NY (March 24, 2014) – The Allman Brothers Band announced the postponement of the remaining four Beacon Theatre performances on March 25, March 26, March 28 and March 29 as Gregg Allman recovers from bronchitis. As a result of Mr. Allman’s illness, the Allman Brothers Band is unable to perform at the level to which they aspire.

All ticketholders should retain their tickets, which will be honored for the soon-to-be-announced rescheduled engagements. Those ticket holders desiring refunds may obtain them from the original point of purchase.

This news comes as a real bummer man. As a guy form Montana who spent a lot of time and money getting tickets for both Wednesday and Friday night, I am heartbroken. Plane ticket already booked and everything. Its a real bummer man.

Will there be any consideration for the people who attended the shows this past weekend? As someone who has followed the band since 1970, thinking that this might be my last chance to see the band, it was real disappointment not to have Gregg at the show. I would like to go to a rescheduled show, and I think that is only fair. I would have not purchased the tickets if Gregg was not on the bill. Sorry, I don't mean to insult anyone, the band is great. But it's not the Allman Brothers without Gregg.

Nothing but love, respect, and healing wishes to Brother Gregg. And of course I understand why he WANTS to be at the last Beacon shows.

But anyone who had any problem with the two shows performed this past Friday and Saturday night, simply wasn't at the same shows I was. The band was spectacular, the shows were long and jam-packed with goodness. I will not say Gregg wasn't missed. But I will say that the shows were every bit as good as the ones from earlier in the run.

I went to the show on Friday. And Although they played a show it was not the show that I paid for and I believe my ticket price should be refunded.

We paid for an ABB show. It was a great jam by acts associated with the family along with some of the band members but it was not an ABB show. Dickey was right. It was a tribute band.

I am sorry for all of you who are disappointed about Gregg not being able to play. I have gone to quite a few concerts where I was disappointed and all the members were there, so you never know. Life gets in the way of our best laid plans sometimes. I would have loved to attend, with or without Gregg. I'm working 3 jobs right now and the money just wasn't there and I would have loved to take my son to see this great band, no matter who was playing, with or without Gregg. Just legendary performers, can't imagine it not being fantastic either way. So, I think you all came out ahead regardless. I bet if you think back over the evening, you'll realize it was great. Turn it around. I, on the other hand, am on the look out for when they reschedule and I'm hoping somehow I can get my hands on some cheaper tickets. Peace to all and hoping that Gregg gets better soon! His book is a great read!
