My score:

Pegasus (1979) is very similar instrumentals Madness of the West (1980) and High Falls (1975) in their structure. They all feature an introduction then a catchy guitar duet, then some guitar jamming (usually with awesome interplay between guitars and organ) which leads to the drum solo. Then after the drums, there's the bass solo and then more jamming back into the main melody. Dickey Betts probably figured he got a good thing going and decided to stick with it. I like the 4/20/79 version of Pegasus which features the "Hey Bartender" from guest vocalist John Belushi.
