If you follow this tab, you can get a grasp of how it is structred. It is a straight 12-Bar Blues in E. So that should help you keep your place.

There are fills that Dickey improvises throughout the first riff, which is played as the "refrain", if an instrumental has a refrain.

The second riff, which serves as the "chorus", and is carried by the bass, allows the guitarist to break away from the riff and play a lead.

Please, if anyone has anything to add, tear mine apart! I would love to see more of the fills tabbed, as well as any leads. The Allman Brothers have played this song sixteen times, according to the Live Show Database. But one of the greatest versions I have heard of this is Dickey and Jerry playing it together on 12-31-73 at the Cow Palace. They medley in the middle in to Linda Lou with Boz Scaggs singing. Good stuff right there, I don't care who y'are!

Enjoy!
