This set is noteworthy primarily due to the fact that the version of One Way Out is the same released on Eat A Peach. Very cool. It's likely the best performance on this set. Duane mentions the fact that the Fillmore is closing.

Many people debate the event or moment that ushered out the Sixties and the peace/love movement. As far as the music was concerned, it happened on the East coast on June 27, 1971 when Bill Graham closed the doors of the Fillmore East. New Y

There was more to this concert than seems to be depicted here. This was the closing night of the Filmore East. As it's final swansong it was broadcast live by the two then Progressive radio stations in NYC, WPLJ and WNEW, who worked togethe

My copy has Duane's Whipping Post solo edited out, as well the last bit of the big crescendo. Also, the first part of Don't Love Me is missing. But the fuller versions do appear on what is wrongfully purported to be the early show of the previous evening, which is actually this show, with much weaker sound quality.

The solo by Duane in the middle of You Don't Love Me is just something else. Everytime you think he can't do more he does & it is even more intense.
